As the autumn season gets into full swing it is important to keep clearing fallen leaves from the lawn to avoid weakening the covered grass. This can be done with a rotary mower with the blades set high, providing the ground is not too wet or frozen. Alternatively they may be raked up or vacuumed with a leaf blower / vacuum.
Any weeds in the lawn will no longer be removed with weed killers. They can either be removed manually with a weeding tool or left until the new season to be treated and killed.
If the weather does turn unusually milder and the grass continues to grow, it may be lightly trimmed with the mower with the blades set high. If cut too short at this time of the year it may suffer and encourage moss to grow.
